Thank you HOD...loving our school time!

Post by Gigi » Fri Oct 05, 2012 10:47 pm

I have been meaning to post from our very first day in August, but wanted to see how our days kept flowing. And now I can confidently say I LOVE HOD! I am doing Little Hands with my 4yo ds and Beyond with my almost 8 yo dd. Where should I start?? My son is very attached and best friends with daddy, HOD has brought him closer to me as well. Spending those 30 minutes with him has been a joy; we look forward to it! We sit on the floor together and go through all our activities and we are having so much fun!! First day I was almost in tears! He loves all the different activities and I have to come up with more stuff for him to do because he wants more hands on!! And we are still done in 30 minutes. My ds doing Beyond is loving it too!! We add some quick Usborne science activities that we quickly do in the kitchen; she likes science. We are usually done in about 2 hrs or less and having so much fun reading together in the couch...she loves to read and to be read to as well. Writing is not her favorite, but because she picked a cute notebook to be her poetry notebook, she has to write neatly on it and her handwriting is improving! She also loves illustrating her poems on the opposite page...so thanks HOD for making our homeschool so peaceful (most days!!) and I feel I got my sanity back! I am so blessed by your hard work in putting this curriculum together...thank you!!

That's wonderful, Gigi! We are in our 6th week of Bigger and I feel the same way. I even tried to switch things up a few weeks ago because I got an "itch" to try a couple of new things that a friend recommended. Boy, was that a stressful week. We happily returned to our HoD schedule and we are definitely enjoying our days much more.

HoD is so easy to customize to fit each family's needs, which I love, and still not take away from the solid academics the child is learning. That right there is huge to me.

Continued blessings upon your school year!

I was so uplifted by your post here today! This was just plain fun to read! :D I had to smile as I read about your ds being a daddy's boy, as I have 3 sons, and I have felt that way too. HOD really fills a big need for me as a mother of 3 boys. It is our special time together, and it is what is helping me have happy memories doing things with each of them they love. I don't know what I'd do without it. Your dd is doing so well with Beyond too, and that is very exciting! These will be neat memories for all of you. I have done HOD for 10 years now, and I get all emotional thinking back over the times we have spent together making special memories with HOD. I like to take pictures and put them on our digital photoframe. It is like a visual trip down memory lane. :D Have a wonderful rest of your year with Beyond and LHTH, and thanks for being an inspiration with your words here today! :)

In Christ,
