I wanted to thank you ladies for praying for our Dad! In case you missed this, here is the previous thread about our Dad...

I wanted to give you a brief update about him. Our Dad has recovered from so much these past months, and it is all due to prayer and the Lord's faithfulness. After many setbacks... a 37 day hospital stay after his whipple procedure, several infections, fisulas healing, drains healing, falling and needing stitches... we are so happy to share that Dad's most recent PET scan detected no cancer at this time. Praise the Lord!
He is beginning 6 months of chemo as a preventative measure for cancer, since pancreatic cancer is a very aggressive form of cancer, and since his particular kind of pancreatic cancer is the most aggressive. Please continue to pray for him - that the chemo will not make him sick or overly fatigued, and that the cancer will not come back.
We just celebrated our parents' 50th wedding anniversary at their church in IA. It was such a special time, and though Dad had a blackened eye and stitches on his hand from a fall, we thought he looked so good! Just to see him up and around with good color in his face again, telling stories and laughing with old friends and family by our mom's side was priceless. Here's a picture of Dad and Mom, and of our family at the church...

God is so good! Our Dad (and Mom) have such strong faith. They are an inspiration to us and to so many others in their steadfast faith in God through all of this. They are choosing to step out in faith each and every day and trust in the Lord's plan. Thank you so much for being a part of our parents' support through your prayers and your encouragement! Both Carrie and I appreciate it beyond measure.
Love in Christ,
Julie
