Hi all,

I am hoping that someone (or a few of you) that has gone through this book, can give me an honest opinion of it. I sometimes will go to Amazon.com to browse through the reviews and ALL of the books thus far have always had WONDERFUL reviews recommended in the guides we've done. BUT "A Child's Story of America" had AWFUL, HORRIBLE even SCARY reviews :( ... I was so surprised to see that... I guess I can do the extensions for my ds without that book and just utilize the science book, etc, but I'm hoping someone might shed a little light?? Should I purchase this book? Or should I be concerned about it??

Thanks in advance!!! :D :D

I didn't use the Bigger extensions, but there has been some discussion about this book before. This thread ought to give you more information to help your decision: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=10590&hilit=childs+story+of+america

I did use it to supplement Eggleston, but I did not use it often. I didn't see anything scary : )

Thank you so much Patty for posting the link to this thread...Carrie does an excellent job of explaining that the inappropriate material at the end of book are not included in the scheduled reading...at least I know that what I read on amazon is true, but that it won't be scheduled for reading and I am aware and will use caution when having my son read from it...thx again! :D
