I just had to pop in here and share with you ladies that we are home and doing well!

It has been quite the journey this past month+! (Here is my post from early August if you missed it...
viewtopic.php?f=6&t=12356) I haven't been updating here as I didn't want to use up the board for our personal story. But I just have to share with all of you that while this has been one of the most difficult things that we have had to walk through as a family, God has just been pouring down his blessings on us along the way!

My husband, Mike, had a much more "bumpy" recovery from surgery than we anticipated. He was not in pain, no infection...BUT his intestines had quite the "stutter start" in getting going. Every time we thought things were ready to go, they quit again. It was a full 25 days that he was not allowed any food by mouth.

But, we could not have imagined a nicer place to be than where we were. The nurses and surgical team were just incredible and like our 2nd family. We actually shed a few tears leaving them. God just continually put wonderful people in our path along the way to encourage us and bless us - whether that was other patients or staff.
We are home now after being away for 40 days, and Mike is doing well. If you'd like to continue to pray for us, we would appreciate it as I know this journey isn't over yet. I'm quite sure that he will be having follow-up chemo due to the advanced stage and aggressivness of his tumor.
Tomorrow, I am eagerly looking forward to organizing our school things and diving into our HOD days as soon as possible!
