What is the First book recommendation for independent readers?
Is anyone able to say?

I know it is not required but it will help me so much.

We are getting the curriculum & books next week and I would love to have the first independent reader book from the appendix list ready for my son. We plan to get it from the library.

I am new to HOD. We just finished Week 1 of Bigger. Are you looking for the Extension books or Emerging Readers? For the Extension books you start with A Child's Story of America, Pedro's Journal and Exploring Planet Earth. If you are looking for the Emerging Readers, you would want The Early Reader's Bible or The Beginner's Bible. Sorry if neither of those were what you were looking for. You may want to repost this on the Main Board- it gets more "traffic."
