14 weeks left...finish or do next guide?

I know the consensus is not skipping anything....I like to cover everything as well. In fact, it gives me great anxiety to skip. My son is almost 11. He was a late bloomer. He wasn't able to read books with ease, so we've worked on reading by adding extra work, like tutoring, spelling and reading programs for struggling readers. We've covered the basics side well, but not the "Learning through History" part. In addition, we started Bigger Hearts in late October; therefore, we still have 14 weeks left of BHFHG. My son has greatly improved. He reads independently now, even the story time books and most of his History. Preparing, looks like it fits more with what he needs to do for 5th grade, even though the History is more like 6th grade ( CA)
My reasons for wanting to go ahead and do Preparing:
He's been doing Beginning Wisely, with no problems
On the placement guide he fits with Preparing or CTC.
He needs more writing instruction.
Teacher from charter school, believes and wants for him to do more.
I could do Preparing 4x a week, then do Bigger once a week just for History and Science.
My 3rd grader could do Bigger. All kids are different, but it bothers him. ( we're finishing Beyond with third grader)
He has seen the books, and cannot wait to start.
He wants to have summer off next year.
Reasons not to skip:
He will miss out on wonderful lessons
He will miss on American History. American History is CA 5th grade standards.
