Recipes from CTC's A Child's Geography

Post by Kirsten » Thu Aug 30, 2012 11:19 am

Has anyone tried the recipes from A Child's Geography?
We made the Turkish Delight today - but not sure it will turn out, it's still really soft. I would like to make Noah's Pudding, the Pita Bread and Hummus, but wondered if others have tried these. I looked for Turkish Delight online and found either very similar or completely different recipes, so not sure what I am doing. I hate to try to make things and waste them if they are horrible.
Thanks!

When my dd did CTC a couple of years ago, she made all the recipes (she loves to cook! and she has a BIG sweet tooth too. :) )
I know she made the Turkish Delight, but can't really remember how it turned out.

My DS made the Turkish Delight two years ago. It didn't turn out right, but we ate it anyway and still laugh about how runny it was. A great memory!

we have hummus here all the time :-) but you really need a good food processor to make it well. I don't like a regular blender. I always wonder how did they make it smooth back then? Can you picture your self using a mortar and pestle to make it??? eep I'd have strong muscles but no time!
