A Life Tie in to Our Lesson

I thought this was really 8) and just had to share. I've been kind of burnt out lately so we haven't consistently been doing school. Anyway, today we finished up unit 14 of LHFHG and read about Danny Meadow Mouse helping Peter Rabbit. One of the questions was Is there someone you can help and how? Well next week or so my ds karate instructor is going in for surgery to get her knee replaced. We have gotten kind of close to her and her 3 boys. My ds and dd are concerned about her. We had a great opportunity to talk about things they can do to help her. Simple things like make a get well card or some food. If we had gotten to this unit when I originally expected to, we would have been well past the lesson of doing to others what we would have them do to us and the opportunity may have been missed or at least not so obvious.

Oh and if you think about it would you please pray for them. I do not know what their beliefs are but she is a single mom of 2 teenage boys and a 10 yr old boy and I think God has really placed them in our lives for a reason.

Thanks
Sarah

Sarah - Thanks for sharing! :D It's so neat to be able to see how God uses the principles in His Word to show our kids (and us!! ) how He wants us to live! I'm so glad that you're able to apply this in your lives, and that the lessons in LHFHG are a blessing to you as they share God's Word! I'm so excited to be able to use this with my dd when we get there.

Ha! I have to comment on the knee thing. Both of our karate instructors just had knee surgery. The first is coming to the end of her 6 weeks of healing, the second will be back on tuesday and is starting his 6-week recoup period.

That's neat as Sara also made for the instructor a get well card.

Oh Sarah,

What a tender heart you and your children have. I am stopping right now and lifting this lady up to her savior. May she be drawn to Him in a way that has never happened before. I love how this tied-in with your lesson. God's timing is always so PERFECT! Let us know how it goes

Sarah,

Thanks so much for sharing this! :D I am always amazed at how the Lord works His perfect timing into our school-day to show us exactly what we need for that day. That is what homeschooling is all about.

Blessings,
Carrie
