Has anyone done bigger and kept the timeline and then used the same timeline for preparing just adding to it? I want my kids to see how american history fits into the big picture. Is there any way to do this? I was thinking of using masking tape as a line and putting the years along it in a stair step type fashion and then using it for the next few years and adding to it each year... does this make sense or sound totally crazy?

We have used a timeline book to help show how things we study fit into history. It was so fun when DD realized that the Roman Empire was the same Roman soldiers who arrested Jesus. We had a bunch of great discussions during that time in history.

We began one last year with Bigger. We took the timeline from Beyond and put it on there as well. I hope to continue to add to it every year. So far it has been a lot of fun to see overlaps. Hopefully it will be useful as well as a nice keepsake.
We got a blank timeline book from Miller Pads and Paper at the homeschool conference.

I haven't done that because I started with Preparing, but once you get to CTC and up through MTMM Carrie has this built in to the notebooking pages. It goes across the top of the page so it is easy to see. I have the CTC and RTR page all in one big notebook and my ds enjoys looking through it. We may need a second big binder to put Rev to Rev and MTMM in.
