Daughter loving cursive!

We have finished unit 1 in Bigger and dd is learning cursive. She was slow in learning manuscript because of some visual/motor problems. She is doing well with the manuscript, but now is so excited about learning cursive letters. Today my sisters were talking about the kids not even learning cursive in ps. (the one has grandkids in ps) I think it is my dd's favorite part of school so far. She has only learned a few letters, but when she learns one, she wants to keep going. It may seem like a trivial accomplishment to some, but because of some things being more difficult for her due to CP and eye tracking problems, this will be huge for her in terms of success. I'm looking forward to seeing more giant leaps in learning and also in physical strength during this school year. Just wanted to share my excitement. :D

That's great! Are you using Cheerful Cursive? We are a week in as well, using CC and loving it! DD wants to keep going, but I stop it after one page as suggested. Mine has had a hard time with manuscript as well...so it is refreshing to have this accomplishment! Celebrating with you! :)

Yes, we are using Cheerful Cursive. DD was so excited when she wrote her first cursive word-'it'. When she writes her name, she is making some manuscript and some cursive. She can't wait to be able to do her whole name in cursive. :D
