We will be starting the Bigger material with my 3rd grader. He did Beyond for 2nd grade. I am trying to decide whether he would need the level 2 or level 3 book pack for DITHOR. We did the Emerging Readers books in 2nd grade. He is a wonderful reader and has flown through the Emerging Readers books. I don't want to buy level 3 and it be too hard, but I also don't want to buy level 2 and them be too easy for him. Advice? Thank you!

That's a tough one, but I'm leaning towards sticking with level 2 just because that is the natural progression after the emerging readers, the reading level of the level 2 books actually goes up to a 4th grade level, and since you will be wanting him to get the feel for DITHOR,I think it is best to go slightly below his reading level. He will be learning new skills with DITHOR so it would be good for the books not to be too difficult so he can focus on other skills. I think that's the way I would go, but hopefully some others might chime in and offer their advice. They are both great book packs with lots of wonderful books! :D

I second staying with the level 2 pack and that was the advice Julie had given me a long time ago. You don't want the readings too hard because they are completing the DITHOR work and learning a lot of skills with that. So far I am happy I went with the level 2 pack.
