Hi I've been going through trying to get supplies ready as much as possible, though I don't have all my guides for next year yet. My youngest ds is going to be doing Beyond this time, and I read that tempera paints were used in some of the crafts. Well, I live in Japan, and they are pretty hard to come by here. I was wondering if regular water color paints would do? or if not would acrylic paints do?

Also if anyone has a list of the supplies for Beyond (and Preparing and RtoR), I would *love* to see one!! I have to try to get some of my "normal" supplies ahead of time because some things just aren't as readily available here

I'm not sure if this would help you, but here are some links to making your own paints. I've haven't tried it yet, but we're going to this year hopefully! I've been saving them on pinterest until I had a chance to give them a try. We did Beyond last year and had so much fun! Enjoy your year

Part of post removed by board moderator per board rules. For LHFHG there were a few times that tempera paint was called for and I used acrylic with no problem.

I think writing out a supply list for everyone to use would be hard becuz you could use so many options. So the list would be "this" OR "this" OR "that" . . . .

I also think if you can't get tempera paint then some other paint would work. I honestly remember us using paint maybe 3 times and we are in week 25 of Beyond. HTH

When we did Beyond we did not have tempera paints either. We used watercolor paints and our projects turned out just fine.
