If you chose one of the bibles suggested from the "starred items choices", which did you select (Family Time Bible or 101 Favorite Stories From The Bible) and why? Thanks!

I am using the Family Time Bible. I found it for a good price on ebay so that is why I got it. So far I am very pleased with it. My dd enjoys and understands the stories, and the illustrations are wonderful. I hope that helps!

We used the Family Time Bible. The kids enjoyed it and we have reread it many times.

We used the Family Time Bible with Little Hearts with my oldest, and now again with my middle child. It is a great Bible! We did buy 101 Bible... this year too though. I just don't think we can have too many Bibles in the house, and that is a great one too. I have my hubbie going through that one with my 8 year old at bedtime. If I were to compare the two, I'd say the Family Time Bible is simpler, shorter, and has less questions. 101 Bible... has more information, more questions, and a prayer thought for parents. Both of them have breathtaking pictures and are so God-honoring. Either one is super choice!

Hi Candice!
I wasn't going to reply to this one, but thought I'd throw out what we do anyway!

Carrie has included the verses from the Bible that each story is taken from and I have just started reading straight from the Bible. I do use the English Standard Version as it is very easy to understand.

Then we get out our Beginner's Bibles (they each have their own) and we read the story together from that. (It's the very first book on the emerging readers schedule, so I figure why not start learning how to read some of it now!) Not every story is in the Beginner's Bible, but most are.

My dh pointed out to me one day that we had a ton of Bible story books, and very rarely read to them from the actual Bible...so, I've been trying to find ways to incorporate that more into our studies and wean them away from the story book style. They do love their Beginner's Bibles!!

(We were using Egermeier's, by the way, from Sonlight, before I started just using the Bible.)

Just another option (like you need more to worry about! )
