Telescope/Microscope question

Post by christyg » Mon Jul 16, 2012 7:09 am

Hi everyone! Just have a quick question for those of you who have gone thru all of the older guides past Bigger. We are about to start Preparing next week for my daughter who will be 9 in Sept.

My question is will we need to purchase a telescope or microscope for any of the work in the guides from Preparing on up? I would like to own both of these anyway, but just wondered on the timing of when I would need to get these items.

Thanks so much!
Christy :)

No, you will not need these. If I had it to do over again, I would not even buy the microscope for high school. There are so many slides you can view online now, that it did not seem very necessary in the end. A telescope might be fun, but it is not necessary to complete HOD.

8arrows gave a great answer! I agree whole-heartedly. :D We are about to start MTMM, and we have not needed a telescope or a microscope yet. Our dc have LOVED HOD's science! They have learned so much and enjoyed it along the way. I bet your kiddos will too! HTH! :D
