Adding an extra day of English

I am planning to use Bigger 3 days a week for a while, because I need to give dd time to build on the 3 R's. She definitely has struggles in each of those areas. I was just wondering if I should just do English along with our three days, or maybe add a fourth day of English, since Bigger will take us into the next year and dd is 9yo. I just want to make sure I'm giving her enough in that area. In Beyond this past year, I think she could have handled more grammar than the one day that was scheduled, so I don't want to skimp. Our 4th day is basically to finish up anything from the first 3 days that may not be finished(hopefully that won't happen too often), and we will do reading, math, practice Scripture and spelling words, and do her cursive program. The 5th day is going to be extracurricular.....co-op, PE, cooking, fun reading, nature walks, etc. Is it necessary to add English on the 4th day?

I think English 3 days a week should suffice.

Are you using Rod & Staff? If so, I think you'll be fine with 3 days. From what I've read, its advanced. I think in this case, slow & steady wins the race!!! HTH

We will be doing Preparing to Build, Rod & Staff 2, with Bigger. DD will be 3rd grade, so if we do just three days/week, that book will be used into 4th grade. I am inclined to do the three days. I need to focus on math and reading this year, because dd really struggles in math and she needs to spend more time reading for fluency. Even the schedule for the ER's was a lot of reading for her, so we would take two days to do one. This year I want to make sure she is reading more per day, even if we have to break it up into two segments. So, unless someone can convince me otherwise, I will just go with English 3 days.
