Questions on Extensions for BHFHG
Ok, I will be starting my dd in BHFHG, and my ds in CTC (last year was our first yr hs'ing and using HOD). So, I was excited to think that I could order the extension package for BHFHG for my ds (who is 10), and that way I can combine their history and science (I will also start hs'ing my 5yo this fall, and want to combine where possible). Is this even possible? Because I see you have to order the Economy Package, which is history and science, so I would be basically doubling up right? I am not sure how this works. Can some one help please? Thank you so much.

Re: Questions on Extensions for BHFHG
If your ds is currently finishing up Preparing and doing well, going backward to Bigger with extensions when he is done with Preparing would not be a good idea. It would be better for him to go forward and do CTC to keep his skills moving forward. Has your 5 year old done Little Hands yet? Doing Little Hands with the 5 year old won't add much to your day, and CTC is very independent-once the oldest gets the hang of it, he will be able to do a lot on his own, freeing you to work more closely with the youngers.

Re: Questions on Extensions for BHFHG
CTC is much more independent than PHFHG, so I would let your oldest soar and move on to CTC.
The pp is right, Bigger with ext. would be a step back. For your dd starting Bigger Hearts and your 5 yo, could you share a bit about them individually with the placement chart in mind? Is your dd well placed in Bigger (not sure of her age now, maybe an old siggie?)? Also, how about your 5 yo? Where does that child place? I'd guess the 2 and 4 yo could easily be combined down the road for sure. If you could give a bit more info about the middle 2 dc, that would be great! Thanks!

Re: Questions on Extensions for BHFHG
Oh Ok, I never really thought about it being a step backwards. Ds did ok in Preparing, he just doesnt apply himself sometimes and can be very lazy. Sometimes I think some things are over his head, and other times I think he just doesnt try. My dc are now 10,7,5, and 3 (and baby is 2 months
).I will start my 5yo in Little Hearts. He's a whipper-snapper for 5 and I know he will do great (our 3 yo will no doubt listen in on some things and I will have him do some of his own things too). Dd did BLHFHG last year and did great (she is 7, 8 in Nov) and so we will start her in Bigger this year.I feel confident about their placements, but was just trying to look into combing a few things. I am going to combine the storytimes (some of the PHFHG stories last year didnt get read, and I think my 10 yo enjoyed listening in on my 7yo's storytime more so than his own), but as for everything else, just going to leave it as it, and slow down as needed for my 10 yo. Thank you for your input, I really appreciate it!
