Dictation in cursive?

My daughter always chooses to do everything in cursive, even dictation. It seems like it should be in print. Am I just putting my preference on it, or would it be better in print?

I don't think it matters. As long as she is indenting and getting all the punctuation and spelling right. To me it makes sense that she do dictation in the writing method she most uses. My ds is dysgraphic and uses typing as his main way of "writing" so he types his dictation (with all spell check etc turned off of course).

My daughter likes to try out her cursive on it lately, as well. I don't think it matters.

I agree with the good advice here!

Cursive sounds like the ticket for your dd.

Good question! We have no such preference in our house yet.

But, I would have wondered the same thing since the "picture" that you take of the words will definitely look different in print and cursive.
