In looking through the introductions for both Preparing and CTC, it appears that if one chooses to use R&S 4 with Preparing, the entire book is covered in one year, but if one is using it with CTC, it is spread over two years. Is this correct?

Yes, that is correct.
If you are on the lower end of the age for CTC then you could only be in R&S4 by then and you would complete half during that year, and the other half in RTR. Then you would go at full pace of completing one guide that year the following year.

Thanks for responding. We're on the upper end of the age brackets, so we would be using R&S 4 with Preparing. I'm assuming we're supposed to do a lesson a day and finish the entire book by the end of Preparing, but I wanted to make sure.
