I'm using the extension package for my 10 year old for Preparing. When I look at the guide, I see the independent study starred. I'm confused, do I need both book packages? Or should I just turn to the extension lesson plans instead?
Can anyone post an example of what the extension lessons plans are?
Preparing question
Re: Preparing question
Yes, there are two sets of books. there are the extension packages for the 5th and 6th graders doing Preparing...these books are read independently and the lessons for these are in the Appendix. These include oral narration, written narration, etc...
The Independent History Readings are included for everyone doing Preparing (3rd-6th grade) and you purchase the Deluxe Self Study books for this section.
Hope that helps

Re: Preparing question
Maybe I didn't explain correctly... Still unsure. Is the deluxe history package required in addition to basic and extension packages?
Re: Preparing question
Yes. The Basic package only includes the books for the Storytime Section that YOU will read to your child. The Delux Package is all the independent History books your child will need for that box. the extension package is optional if you want your child to read the extensions. It is not required in order to do Preparing, only to enhance the learning experience for the older child.
Hope that clears up your question!!
I am doing Preparing next year (with extensions) for my 5th grader too!
Hope that clears up your question!!
