Bigger Hearts has 170 days of plans, which I loved because it gave me some wiggle room for days we needed to take here and there for health concerns, etc. throughout the year.

DITHOR has 180 days of plans, and is super flexible! It can be done 3, 4, or 5 days a week, and it can be started at any point in a guide. In Bigger Hearts, there is a reminder to do DITHOR each day, but in PHFHG on up it is scheduled 3 days a week. DITHOR won't always match up exactly with the completion of a guide, but there are lots of options that work. If we have some days left of DITHOR but are finishing our core HOD guide, we have just done the DITHOR Student Book and DITHOR TG plans together and left off the project, just finishing out the reading of the book then. We have also stopped DITHOR first when we could see we wouldn't have enough days left in our core HOD guide to do a full DITHOR genre. Whichever genres we didn't complete, we started with the next year. This fits especially when doing DITHOR 3 days a week, as you get through somewhere between 4-5 genres each year. In general, we try to have each of our children get through all of the plans and genres in Level 2/3, Level 4/5, and Level 6/7/8 by the end of eighth grade at least once, though usually we do more than this.

So, all this to say, DITHOR is super flexible, so you can just drop off the last genre and pick up with it at the start of next year, or you can just get as far as you do with the plans and then stop to just let kiddos finish out reading the book, or you can just not do the final project. Just like different subjects ended different times back in the day when I taught in ps (showing my age here

) the same thing may happen here with DITHOR, but you can easily finish it out with any of those options I mentioned. HTH!

We have LOVED DITHOR here for so, so many years BTW - and our kiddos still do too. It has been neat to see their growth through the years with DITHOR's solid - yet enjoyable - reading instruction! Hope you had a super year with it too!
In Christ,
