I am considering using Heart of Dakota for my kids in the fall. I will have a 4th and 5th grader that I was going to do Bigger with Extensions, I will have a 1st grader that I was going to do Little Hearts(hes still working on cvc words) and possibly include our 4yo when she learns her letters (she knows some but came home 6months ago from africa) and then Little Hands for my 3yo with 4yo joining in sometimes.
What do you think? Is this plan workable? I like that HOD is a mix of one-on-one and some independent. I love all the book choices. I want to do something with my 3yo so he doesn't get left out so thats why I want to do little hands. We do have the option of schooling year round so we don't feel too stressed in getting through the guides so quickly as well.
Looking down the road I would probably hold off my 3yo a little while and let the 1yo's join him for Little hearts when he is 6 and they are 4. Then I will never be doing more than 3 guides.
Thank you,
Sherry (mom to 7, ages 10,9,6,4,3,1,1)

I think I would lean towards just having your 4 yr old do LHTH with the 3 yr old and take your time with it. That way she won't hit Beyond too soon down the road. Given the language and culture change she has a lot on her plate. Then you could place the 1 yrs together and still only have 3 guides.

And to the orignial poster - you've got a great plan and attitude! Place that order!

Re: placement for a large family
So do Bigger for my oldest 2, and Little Hands for my 3yo and 4yo but then that leaves my 6yo to do Little Hearts? So when the babies get older we would be running 4 guides? Is this feasible?
Re: placement for a large family
Four guides is very feasible if they are placed correctly
