Writing Program and R&S for RtR?

I am working on ordering our curriculum (RtR) for next year and I'm a little confused about the instruction on how to order the writing portion of the guide.

R&S #4 - We have been doing CtC this year and already have the Building with Diligence. So I am under the assumption that we will finish the last 1/2 next year? So I don't need to buy the next book?

Medieval History - Based Writing Lessons = So am I supposed to order this to? In the R&S area it says, "If you use Building With Diligence: English 4, you will not need to add another program to teach writing" So do I not need this one either?

Any help would be..well..helpful

Hi -

Yes, just continue on with your Rod and Staff from wherever you are.

And also, order the Medieval Writing. The assignments in the guide overall that Carrie has planned are based on the assumption that you are using Rod and Staff.

Yes, you need both (unless you choose a different writing program). The writing assignments in R&S are pretty minimal. Most lessons are strictly grammar (parts of speech, punctuation, capitalization). There are a few assignments on poetry, dictionary use, and paragraph writing or writing a book report. I don't think it would be enough to count as a whole year's worth of writing instruction.
