Key Ideas: question

Post by MeadowWay » Fri Apr 27, 2012 10:26 am

Are we supposed to announce or say anything about the key ideas? why I was asking is in our Reading about History box, the assignment was a reading from the bible, but to the child the connection isn't necessarily obvious to the actual history reading we are doing the other days.

After we do the History and Bible I read all the Key Ideas on all boxes for that day to my kids. We view (or I view) it as a recap of the History and a segue into the science, geography, art or whatever. Because sometimes just looking at the science you really can't see how it ties in to the history. But when you read the Key Idea from the science, it does tie it in.

I try to do that as well. Sometimes though I will read the Activity one beforehand as sort of a lead-in to the activity. I think it helps to explain "why" we're going to do whatever is scheduled there that day and helps DS understand the connection better. :D
