Hi ladies~

Just a quick question~I'm thinking that I'll need to do CTC half~speed for a bit...I'm curious, for anyone who has done half~speed for CTC, could you please guide me a bit into how this is done? I know to keep doing the daily Language arts and Math boxes...should any other boxes be done daily? I guess what I'm wondering is if there is a "correct" way to divide the days into two days...if this makes any sense at all, bless you for attempting to help! :D

Just balance them out... you could do left one day and right next day or you could balance it based on time or subject load. Like even out the easier and more difficult subjects for your child. One thing I'd do is keep the history reading and history project together. I'm starting it out half speed too, and if I were planning it to be done as such for long term, I'd do it differently, but I'm just doing it as a buffer for training and training well, so we will just alternate left/right pages. For how long? No idea. I'd look at half speed preparing or even bigger hearts ideas to see how others are balancing the days. It'll give you an idea, just not specific to CTC.

Here's a link to half-speed PHFHG, as this is the guide right before CTC and may help...

Half-speed PHFHG, with daily 3 R’s schedule by Carrie:

Also, here is a more general thread about half-speed...

There is a lot of flexibility in going half-speed, so just play around with a schedule, and I bet you'll find what works for you! HTH! :D

Julie
