I was looking at my Beyond TM today and seeing how the edges of the cover are starting to show wear and how the pages themselves are showing some dingyness from daily handling. And then I thought how I've got two more dc that will be using this program. I've read somewhere on here about taking the manual apart and putting each page or two into sheet protectors and then into a 3 ring binder.
But I'm just chicken to actually commit to tearing my manual apart. For those who have done this, is it working well for you? I'm just thinking that the page protectors will, well, protect the pages! Ha!

Re: Unbinding and rebinding the Teacher Manuals?
My current Beyond guide is in page protectors. I have a love/hate relationship with it. I hate that I have to split the guide up into a smaller binder because the binder to fit it all is huge and heavy. But, I love having the Appendix in it's own binder (I pop the poem out for copywork, so easy).
I, personally, won't cut mine again, but I only have one child to use them.

Re: Unbinding and rebinding the Teacher Manuals?
I actually prefer the guide unbound & in one binder because it makes organizing easier (and I NEED easy right now lol). I put my Beyond manual in a large 3-ring binder (I think it is 3-1/2 or 4") but not in page protectors. In between each week I have SL tabs (numbered 1-34). When I find something I wish to include, I can 3-hole punch it & place it in the correct week and/or day (my dd is really into crafts/coloring so I printed out a few pages for each week). I also place any work she has completed in the corresponding week as well.
So far, I have not had any issues with the holes tearing or wearing our prematurely & I hope it says that way

Re: Unbinding and rebinding the Teacher Manuals?
I have 4 kids to use my manuals. I'm finding that by the 2nd kid, our holes are wearing out (I don't have them in page protectors) and I don't like lugging the huge binder around. For my newest manuals I'm trying to keep them in tact. I think I'm going to find some contact paper and cover the outsides, but otherwise leave it alone.
