Sometimes I cringe that my ds has such great retention!

Post by lmercon » Wed Apr 11, 2012 8:13 pm

HOD helps me educate my dc so well that it sometimes comes back to bite me! My ds is in CTC, and a couple of months ago we were going through the Land Animals science book. We squirmed our way through the parasitic worms chapter. Yuck! Anyway, we were out to a restaurant several weeks ago, and my ds sat back from the table, his plate empty, and said in a clear, expressive voice, "Wow, Mom, I'm still hungry. I must have a tape worm!"

We had a "what is socially acceptable to announce in restaurants" chat on the way home that night.

I can look back now and snicker, but it was horrifying at the time.

That's funny! I could picture my dd saying something like that, and not in a whisper. HOD definitely serves our children well! :D

Thanks for the morning laugh :) I'm glad my kids aren't the only ones needing those "socially acceptable" speeches!
