The importance of being properly placed...
The importance of being properly placed...
I just wanted to share how much my daughter is loving BLHFHG. A little history... we started LHFHG last yearnight in Kindergarten and we plugged through and made it about half way but she was just not ready for most of it. She has a summer birthday so she was barely 5 when starting K and I think that makes a huge difference. The read alouds were way too much for her at that point but she loved the rhymes. So we finished out our K year with MFW K, just the activity section. Now she is nearing the end of 1st grade and she had finished Little Hearts and has now started on Beyond. This is our first week and it is amazing how smooth it is going. She is so ready for all the copywork and stories without many pictures. She LOVES American Pioneers and Patriots and is really getting into the stories. All this to say that I am glad we didnt give up on HOD because I believe she was just in the wrong program when we started out. I guess I was thrown for a loop because her reading skills are so much above grade level. Anyway, just thought I would share our success story!
