Box Day!!!!

We made it to the post office and picked up the box. I am so impressed!! It's even better than I thought it would be, and I really don't know how that's possible because I had super high expectations. DD is really excited too! We sat down on the couch and flipped through History for Little Pilgrims and the science book (I can't remember what it's called). She loved looking at the pictures. She said she wanted to start today. When I told her it wouldn't be for a while she gave me a rather grouchy look.

DS (2) asked where his school was. I told him that we were going to wait a couple of years until we got some for him. He said "OH!" and walked away pouting, poor little guy! It will be a while until we order LHTH for him, seeing as how he's only 2. Maybe I'll have to before too long to give him some special time (and to have another box day

).
Okay, I had heard a lot about the Rod and Staff books, and even looked at their site, but they were never very appealing to me. Oh my goodness! Thanks, Carrie, for scheduling them otherwise I never would have really discovered these wonderful books! I flipped through them and they are absolutely precious. I know that DD is going to love them. I looked at their website and there are a couple others I may order for DD to start doing now for fun because they are so sweet.
Anyway, this is a great day! It has been so much fun looking through our new books with my 3 sweet babies (the little one did more nursing than looking, but it was fun having her involved too

). I wish I'd taken pictures! Too sweet!

Sounds like you had a wonderful afternoon! We are in our last weeks of Little Hearts, and it has been so much fun.....you are in for a great year!
Your story reminded me of Christmas.....I had ordered some things, but the UPS guy couldn't get down our gravel road. This is one of those "you know you live in a small town when" moments. He just dropped my package off at this little gas station down the road and called me to tell me where my package was and that I could come and get it as soon as the roads cleared.

At least you got yours the same day!

What fun! I love looking through new books, too! I'm sure your great memories will get to continue through the year!
I'd have to agree that your day reminds me of Christmas (in more ways than one

). While our mailman usually drives down the driveway and honks for packages...we had some loonng awaited packages from UPS this Christmas, too, that stayed in town for more than a week.
So glad for your fun day!

It is like Christmas! And part of what's been so exciting is that we're about to be "real homeschoolers." We've done preschool, and I've researched countless curriculums, but I've got our Kindergarten stuff in the house. That makes us real homeschoolers. So not only did we get cool stuff in the mail today, but we get to start really homeschooling. I don't know if that makes sense, but that's part of why we're so excited.

Anyway, thanks for sharing my day with me!

I understand that "real homeschoolers" feeling. We started DD's K program around the same time our friends were doing K sign ups and tours. It's so exciting to get new books in the main and have that true homecshoolers feeling!!!

Mommamo,
I'm so excited for you too! We are loving "Little Hearts.." with my third little guy. He has grown so much this year in his listening skills and is really enjoying things that previously he wouldn't have been able to handle. I love what you shared about being a real "homeschooler" now. I remember that excitement too!
Thanks for sharing!
Blessings,
Carrie

How exciting!

I know exactly what you mean about being a real homeschooler. I felt the same way when we began Little Hearts for K last fall. Now we are on week 32 and I have loved using this program. I'm sure your kiddos will enjoy it as well. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks everyone for being excited with me! What an adventure we're about to start!
Week 32-wow! I can't even imagine what I'll be feeling when we get to week 32. Nearly a year of homeschooling accomplished, so many exciting, sweet memories (I hope at least!

)
