Tell me it's ok

Post by blessedmomof4 » Wed Mar 28, 2012 2:12 pm

To try half-speed for a while...I wrote in another thread that my wonderful daily schedule has fallen flat now that the pregnancy symptoms have kicked in. I take a nap almost every afternoon and am still tuckered out by 7 PM :o I am also having loads of nausea. Plus I am falling behind in my college work, though the professor is being so gracious. Homeschool has been all but nonexistent because when I am getting up late and off schedule, the girls get off schedule too  I thought maybe if we can all commit to half-speed after spring break, at least they will be doing HOD every day. The one thing that makes me feel better is that since we have homeschooled for so long, they have been doing other educationally worthy things daily, it's in their blood :D For example, Keri is learning to play guitar and has been writing tons of worship songs for her new band, and Tamara reads voraciously and even finished her DITHOR mystery project of creating a board game, and we played it together. We have also had some informal talks about what we are reading in the Bible, hearing at church, or what's new in current events, while I am lying in bed feeling sick. But I am very eager to get back to consistency with HOD!!

Most definitely give yourself the freedom to slow down a bit! Life happens and that's one of the wonderful things about homeschooling is that you can slow down when needed. Try not to fret about where you think you should be and enjoy this time. (That's easy for me to say since I'm not the nauseous one  ). I've been amazed when I look back at how God has used the times when I've had things slow us down. Even though at the time I didn't think we were making the progress we should, when I looked back, I saw how much progress was made and how God had used that time for His glory. It will be great for you to get into a half-speed routine after Spring break and keep moving ahead. I'm sure it will give you all a great sense of accomplishment and help life feel more normal (if there is such a thing   ). Congratulations on your wonderful new blessing! :D

I just wanted to say congratulations!!!! You helped me so much last year by responding to my MANY posts as a "just-starting homeschooler" so I remembered your name. We are expecting a baby too in just a few weeks. I will be praying for you over the next months, may God bless you!! :)
