WWTB when child is still only halfway through R&S 3?

I'm wondering if anyone else has been successful in using Write with the Best while their dc was still in R&S 3- Beginning Wisely. We started R&S 2 last winter when we switched to HOD. My dd has gone through all of R&S 2 and half of R&S 3 in one school year. But now that we are starting WWTB, I am concerned that she will get frustrated. We are on Unit 1 Day 3 of WWTB and she hasn't learned yet what the lesson is asking her to find. There are still days that she gets nouns and verbs mixed up.

Could I delay starting WWTB until we are finished with Beginning Wisely and then jump into it? I am concerned I will set her up for frustration. She is right on skill-wise with everything else in CTC but I am little concerned starting out WWTB. The first reading excerpt from Moby Dick has a huge vocabulary that is over her head.

Thoughts? Experiences?

I remember thinking the vocabulary in Moby Dick was advanced as well, but I was surprised at how well my ds seemed to understand once we began working through the lessons. The lessons are divided in smaller portions that are not overwhelming. The only thing that was overwhelming for my ds was the lesson where dc were to mark the parts of speech. I sat with answer key in hand and had him find every single one. It was not until later I reread the lesson's directions, and realized we were to find just "some" of them. So, going with that train of thought, I think if you don't expect too much within those types of lessons, and help your dd out as needed, she'll be fine doing WWTB even though she's not completed all of R & S English 3. If she is a good reader, I think she'll do fine with the harder vocabulary overall. The other option would be to delay starting WWTB, and then do more lessons each week to make up for the delay. I think I'd go with the first option, and be dd's helper in WWTB as needed, and see how that goes though. I hope something here helps! :D

Thanks, Julie for the reply. I think I have decided to hold off on doing WWTB until we are through with R&S3. I will double up on R&S and then start WWTB when my dd gets done with 3. CTC has been a transition anyway due to the increase of work and time for my dd. And I don't want to set her up for frustration. I almost had thought to do CTC half speed for a month or so; but once I took out WWTB the work load was more manageable for her. She is begining to get adjusted to the new Guide. I do miss the poetry from PHFHG though.
