Copywork: Poem title question

Hi,

When copying a poem, should the title be in quotes or underlined? It seems like I was taught to use quotes when referencing a poem title, but I'm not sure what to do when copying it. Is there a difference?

Thanks,
Kathy

I've always thought that it was quotes for a poem title and underline for a book title. Maybe someone who is certain will chime in.

When a poem is being copied for copy work it should just be capitalized. If you are referencing a poem within another work of writing you may either us quotation marks or italics. Using italics is the newer form, but becoming widely accepted. Book titles may be either underlined or italicized now as well.
