What books are needed for the first 12 weeks of Bigger?

I am about to place an order for some of Bigger. We have decided that DD2 really needs to go back a guide so that she will be able to move through the guides at a smoother pace and at a level which will benefit her in the longer term. But what do I need for the first twelve weeks?

I am going to get her Singapore 2A and 2B to transition from MUS. I think this will be a low enough level to get into Singapore plus we have 1A and 1B here for DS1 so if need be I can go through some of that with her orally anyway.

I am not sure whether to flick her back to English 2, or keep her in English 3 and just move along at a bit of a slower pace for awhile.

Any advice will be gratefully received. I finally feel at peace about this decision. I have been umming and ahhing over this for a few weeks. It is great knowing that she will be placed where she really needs to be.

My daughter will begin Bigger in the fall after we finish 6 weeks of Beyond. She will actually be 9 when she starts, but I know what you mean about having them on the right level. She will also be in PM 2A & 2B. I almost started with Beyond her first year and then decided to go back to LHFHG. I'm so glad I did. It's so good to have that peace. :)

You said you are ordering *some* of Bigger. If you are not intending to order all of the Science and History, from what I can tell, you will need the following books for the first 12 weeks:
SCIENCE - One Small Square: Seashore
Science in Colonial America
John Audubon
One Small Square: Woods

HISTORY - A First Book in American History
Stories of Great Americans

STORYTIME - Biography
Adventure
Historical Fiction

ER BOOKS or DITHOR
CURSIVE
ENGLISH
MATH
LITTLE PILLOWS
HYMNS FOR A KID'S HEART

I think that covers it. IMO, you would be better off just ordering the whole package, since it is discounted.
It sounds like you have Math decided. As far as English, I guess that depends on how well she has been doing in English 3. If she has been doing fine with that, keep her there. If you feel she is lacking in those skills, you may want to move her back to 2. Only you can decide. :)
Enjoy Bigger! I'm looking forward to getting there, but we continue to enjoy Beyond. :D

Thank you so much Pam. I already have Cheerful Cursive and DITHR, and have just been using library books for DITHR. I am just ordering what I need to start with as I am using some money that is set aside for something else, and also because of postage costs to New Zealand. I will be able to get the rest mid year. I have been thinking about the English, that I will get English 2, and just check that she wouldn't be better doing that first, although I think she can probably stay where she is. I'm not too worried as my two boys will use it anyway when they get to Bigger.

Michele, I didn't even take notice that you were in NZ. I understand about the postage. It sounds like you are on the right track with your dd. Hope you enjoy Bigger. :D
