Bloom's Taxonomy

Post by GinainMD » Sat Feb 25, 2012 9:41 am

Hello everyone. I loved how the ERs included questions that coordinated with Bloom's Taxonomy. I felt like it helped me understand where we were going in terms of goals. So is this continued in the rest of the guides? What about in Dithor? Pardon me if this is an obvious question but if it is not in flashing neon lights... well  . Thanks.

In Preparing, the "Reading About History" box has questions to ask your children. It looks to me like they are coordinated with Bloom's Taxonomy.

Hope that helps! :D
Blessings,

I love this too! :D It is so refreshing to have my dc answering all types of questions that require them to truly ponder and apply what they have read. DITHOR uses "Bloom's Taxonomy" as a base for its oral questions and Student Workbook questions, and there is a great balance of each level, with increasingly difficult levels of questions as the DITHOR levels progress. :D In CTC, the Reading about History questions once each week, the Science Exploration 5 questions with 1 Biblical Application questions, and the guiding oral questions for written narration lessons in history have a balance of Bloom's Taxonomy throughout the guide as well. In RTR, the guiding oral questions for written narration lessons in science maintain a good balance, as do the poetry discussion questions, which really helped us delve deeply into the poetry. In RevtoRev, the Storytime questions are all written to fall within the highest levels of Bloom's Taxonomy, and the levels are noted in parenthesis behind each question. The Biblical application questions we do for Reading about History each week are typically all higher level questions as well, as are the other questions in the Reading about History box's plans, including the period painting questions (which have enjoyed so much!). The Worthy Words primary source document questions definitely fall mostly in the upper level of Bloom's Taxonomy too and have provided excellent topics of discussion for us this year. Our discussions within "Who Is God?" and the inventors' books questions have given a balance of questions from all the levels of Bloom's Taxonomy. These are just off the top of my head - there are probably more - but Bloom's Taxonomy is well represented in HOD's guides, with an increase in the number of questions in the upper levels in HOD's upper guides. So, you have much to look forward to and continue to enjoy in the years to come! HTH! :D

In Christ,
Julie

Thanks ladies. You answered my question. Sorry for my disjointed thoughts. I was having a hard time putting into words what I wanted to know. The more we dig into HOD the more I find that by the time something occurs to me  Carrie has already worked it into the guide. Love it! Thanks again.
