I had do do a bit of changing around

I ordered DITHOR awhile ago and recently gave it a try. It's been a bit of a struggle with her. I have been working with DITHOR for about a month with little sucess. I have decided to go with the emerging readers list for now. For the past few days Reading Choices has been easier to check off. The books I purchased to read with DITHOR will go under Storytime.
I would like to give DITHOR another try in a few months and hopefully it will work. I like the layout and that you can use whatever book you want.

That sounds like a good plan....the emerging readers get pretty tough there at the end, well into 3rd grade level. :)

On a side note....I just visited your blog! I am curious about your timeline....do those little strips lift up like flaps? That looks like a really cool way to do our timeline for Beyond. Would you mind if I used your idea??

MamaBear23Cubs,

I agree that if your little sweetheart is struggling with DITHR, it's best to go back to the lighter approach with the Emerging Reader Set. Give her time to grow into DITHR.

You may even want to wait another 6 months or so and then try DITHR again. Sometimes kiddos need a chance to develop their fine motor skills so they can do the writing required. You could also just do the discussions orally and do the writing for your little honey when you start DITHR again to make it very conversational. :D

Blessings,
Carrie
