We have done R&S 2, and I feel silly that I bought the TM! I don't think we used it once, lol!
Next guides we will be using 3 or 4. Did anyone find the TMs useful with those levels?
Thank you!

We're still in level 2, but I remember reading a thread where Julie said she needed the level 3 teacher's manual because there were daily (I think) review questions in there. She said she started the year without using the TM but later realized it was very much needed. Maybe she will clarify if I'm leaving anything out, but what she said definitely made me add the level 3 TM to my list for next year.

I found it useful towards the end of 3 and for 4. It also has some teaching helps, if your child has trouble understanding certain things, it goes into a bit more detail in the TM if you need it. It also has some oral review questions from previous lessons that I always started with before the new lesson.

We use it daily for the review questions...that really helps DD remember what she's learned. I've also used it a few times to check the sentence diagrams. We're using level 3.

I started buying them for 3rd grade. The review questions are very helpful!

Thank you, ladies!!! I will get the TM. The review questions will undoubtedly be helpful, and I remember how much I struggled with diagramming when I was young, lol!!

Larica - your memory serves you right!
Beginning with R & S English 3, the TM is necessary because of the oral review questions. They are crucial. And how do I know? Because I forgot to do them for a whole semester.
I told Carrie Wyatt was having a hard time remembering the terms taught in R & S English, and she asked me how he was doing with the daily oral review questions. "What oral review questions?" I asked.
Yeah, I haven't missed a day with those little gems since.
For anyone else reading this, you don't need the TM for R & S English 2 unless you want the answers to the daily work, which is not hard at that level. The oral review questions start in R & S English 3. HTH!
In Christ,
Julie
