All the Things That You Love About Preparing?

Post by LovingJesus » Thu Jan 19, 2012 6:04 pm

I would like to hear all of the things that you love about Preparing. I would also love to hear all the things that you love about the History spines: Child's History of the World & Grandpa's Box& Life in the Great Ice Age & Hero Tales.

I am thinking about possibly doing Preparing next school year with a 3rd grade/9 year old, and would love to hear more about it!

So I thought this thread would tell me all of the positive things I am wanting to hear, and might end up being a wonderful encouragement to Carrie who blesses our family daily with Bigger and LHTH.

Thank you! :D

There is nothing like it out there. Nobody has a program that takes kids through a tour of all history before they go intensively through each time period. To me that is very important. It helps them to assimilate what they will learn later and how it fits in the big picture. :D No other program does that and it is so important to really having them fit the puzzle pieces together.

We loved all the spines in Preparing. Grandpa's box is great, Chow was wonderful. We loved the Great Ice Age and Hero Tales also. And the way Carrie links it all to the Word and helping your kids know Christ is I think better than any other publisher out there. :D Your kids really grow in Christ in Preparing. They take spiritual principles and see how they apply to life through the history figures they read about. And they learn to take biblical principles and turn them into prayer to God. That is a very important habit and life skill.

Beyond all that it begins to teach them gently independence and a deeper depth in their work. They learn how to research and how to do projects that go beyond what they are learning in books. To me Preparing is the pivotal program in HOD. All below it leads to it and it leads to all that is to come. I mean that in terms of skills and spiritually.

You don't want to miss Preparing. You will love it! :D
