Can anyone let me know if I need to purchase individual copies of the state study "Fifty States Under God" for each student? Thank you!

Steph has this right below.

I think she has the best answer.

Water2Wine might not be thinking of the same book. You DO need a book for each child because each state has a couple of pages of information that they need to fill in. The first page of each state has facts and then a "Find a Fact of Your Own" that the student could get from the beginning of the book or online. Then they are to draw a small picture that symbolizes something about the state. The second page has the student writing in the date the state entered the union, the motto, rank, capital, abbreviation, and a small inset map that they label. Then in they have color pictures (in the back of the book) that the students cut out and paste and label on each states pages such as a picture of the capital building, bird, tree, flower, flag and seal. Then the 3rd page has information about the state services/agriculture/economics, etc. I don't know how you could possibly share the book. It is very much a consumed book.

Want to just edit this. She is right. I was not thinking.

We really had to modify things to use it with more than one child and not make copies, which is not allowed with this book. So you would be better with more than one child if you can to each have their own books.

Okay, Water2Wine's idea would work too!

I didn't think of making my own notebooking pages, but as she said, if you used the information and had the students make their own fact sheets, traced maps, and got images of the specific types of pictures from google or something, you could definitely do your own state fact section of your notebooking binder. I know for my son, it would be hard to do those extra steps. We are using Rev2Rev with extension so any extra steps like this would be hard to fit in, so for me it is worth having it all in one place and ready to go. I could see why it would be worth it to some to modify, but it would just depend on your child and family.

I agree with ya Steph. I just did not want to leave that out there because I realized you were right.

And that is the best answer for most people really it is.

Just did not want to mislead anyone.

I do weird things all the time and never think of it because it works on my head. I am just that way and I think for most people you have it exactly as it should be.
Sorry for all the confusion.

Thanks, gals! I have 3 who will need it for next year and it's pretty pricey - so I was trying to see if I could get away with just buying one. I think I'll have to see it in person at the convention to make a decision.
