Please help me think this through...

We are on our second week of Preparing with DD8 (just switched to HOD and loving it!) I also have DD4 (in Feb.) and DS2. I would really love to combine them in the same guide. I already know I will have to do separate basic skills with them. DD4 is reading basic words but has not had any formal phonic instruction. She can write a few letters, but will only practice writing for short periods of time before getting frustrated. DS2 knows all letters and sounds and numbers 1-10. So I was thinking...
Next school year: Do LHTH with them both half speed and do right side (K options) of LHFHG with DD4 half speed
2013/2014: finish the above
2014/2015: LHFHG as written with K right hand options for DS and 1st grade right hand options for DD. DS will be 4.5 and DD will be 6.5. I can slow down right hand skills for DS if needed.
Does this sound like my best option if I want to combine them? Am I missing something? I know LHFHG is for ages 5-7. Do you think it's unrealistic to think that a 4.5 year old will be able to keep up with it?
I do realize that I need to be flexible and take into account their individual skill levels. But I would really love to avoid doing 3 guides if I can and I would like to have a basic plan
Thanks!
