Could I do this?

Because of finances...could I buy The Economy Package and The Science Adder in Bigger Hearts ($150) and go ahead and start with my two children ages 8 and 10? I could purchase the rest in January. (The DITHOR book and book pack, also the storytime readers and the extension pack for ds10) I thought I could use my own books till then, or the library. We already have our Math (CLE) English (R&S and Easy Grammar) and Handwriting (Italic C and D)
I just would like to go ahead and start. We are expecting baby #7 at the end of February.
Or do you think it would be best to just wait and get it all at one time and start in January.

I just ordered LHFHG for my 5 yo and should be getting it next week. I'm excited about switching all of my children over to HOD.

I also have plans to get Resurrection to Reformation for my 13 and 14 year old in Januray.

A lot of people wait a bit to start DITHOR anyway, so that's not a big deal. As for storytime, you don't have to buy the packs; just find books of the appropriate genre at the library (or your own shelves). We do not buy the storytime packs because I already own lots and lots of books that are suitable.

I think starting now is a great idea. That will give you time to get used to the program before you add your olders' program in January. Plus that will have you into a routine well before it's time to have your baby.

I agree... We are also using Bigger this year, and I did purchase the book pack, but we are doing the Emerging Readers Set.

You can definitely do this! :D It is exactly why HOD has resources placed in packages. It sounds like you have a good plan for getting the packages in place. :D
