First thanks to all who are involved with the designing and writing of this curriculum. I know Carrie is the author, but I also know that she must have a great support system behind her. So thank you to all who make it possible for my family to have such a great open and go curriculum. We've put that open and go to the test so far this year by having my mom, my MIL and my hubby doing some teaching. And I'm sure we'll be doing even more team teaching throughout the year. Which brings me to the prayer request part.

I've been battling with breast cancer since last December. I've had surgeries and radiation and now seem to be cancer free. The last surgery was at the beginning of October and was quite involved (9 hours long). It included taking out some of each of my stomach muscles and a large section of my abdominal skin and tissue. We have just found out that we are expecting again and that the baby would probably have been present through at the time of surgery. The baby seems to be healthy and has a good heart rate. Our prayer is that there was no damage done to the baby through all the medicines that I was on during and after surgery. We also pray that my body will be able to handle this stress.

Praying for you right now. I finished up treatment for breast cancer a few months ago, but I think I had it alot easier than you. It's still hard no matter what, though. I'll be praying for God's peace and patience to fill you and for a quick recovery! This verse has been my motto for the last year. Hope it helps!

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in EVERYTHING, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the PEACE of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus." Phil 4:6,7

God chose to not take the cancer away, but He definately gave me a peace about it that could only have come from Him.

Thanks everyone. The plastic surgeon believes that I should be able to carry this baby to full term (36 weeks) with some careful monitoring.
