Monticello

Post by moedertje » Tue Nov 15, 2011 8:25 pm

Ds made a replica of "Monticello" this week. We used red "Duplo Bricks" and a nickel besides the book pages. My ds was very impressed that the Monticello was on the nickel and so was I  . Being I'm from another country, I did not realize this, but we have a 15 year old who recently moved in with us and she showed it to us.
Here is a picture of his replica with trees and a road going to Charlottesvilel in the west to go with it. The domed building is the college  All in all he had alot of fun building this and adding the extra's to it. :D :D

He did a great job! He's a cutie. Isn't so nice when your dc actually enjoy learning?

Nice job on the building! I love visiting Monticello, but I haven't visited in years. I found out this Spring that they have homeschool days in the Spring. We hope to make it up there this year for these. So if you are in the area, check it out for a fun field trip. :D

Thank you ladies,

We do love HOD and the activities that Carrie has scheduled, they help so much to cement what the kids learn during their fun, engaging school hours. The activities really challenge the children their skills.
