First day with Beyond

Post by MomtoJGJE » Mon Nov 14, 2011 4:52 pm

The second time around :)

Grace started Beyond today. I was planning on going half speed between now and Christmas, but when we finished half of it she was still begging for more. So we kept going and she did a whole day and was sad when it ended :)

But, I had TOTALLY forgotten how hard it was to transition from the handwriting book to copywork! :) So we are starting slowly with just one line per day. She's my perfectionist anyway. Like in the Bible Study section it asked what does it mean to be peaceful. She was almost starting to cry! I told her that the question is just to find out what she thinks it is, that she doesn' thave to be right! and she opened up and started giving me all sorts of answers. :) And she LOVES spelling :)

Sounds like a great day! It's always wonderful when they love it so much they want to keep going. :D

Yay for starting, and for it going well! The copywork sure is a lot of work for them, I wish I would have been as wise as you when I was starting it. I hope it continues to be a lot of fun and joy for you and your daughter!

Glad it went well!

We're on week 13 and he still rarely finishes the copywork. I see improvement and that's my goal.

Enjoy!

Sounds like a super start to Beyond - yippee! :D Copywork does take some time, but then all of a sudden, one day they are doing it well, and you're not even sure when they made the switch. It sounds like your little honey is a real go-getter - excited to do the full day right away and wanting more at the end! I love ending the day with them wanting more. There is not a better way for school to go than that. I hope Grace has a wonderful year with Beyond! :D
