My sister-in-law has been suffering with Huntingtons Disease for a number of years. She has been deteriorating and we knew that eventually the disease would take her. Shockingly, yesterday she choked on some food and was without oxygen for 25 minutes. She was on a respirator, but the decision was made to pull it because it was her wish to not be on one. They pulled it and she was breathing on her own. They were unsure of the neurological damage that had been done from being without oxygen, but today we got word that the doctors only give her two days to live. They discovered that, during all this, she also had a heart attack. She is only 45. She and my brother have 6 children, the youngest being 8. Please pray for the family. They actually live out of state, a good distance from us. So, we would have to drive around 9 hours to go be with them. It was even said that she may not make it through the night.

This is so sad, but maybe the Lord is being merciful and sparing her and her family from the awful late-stage effects of this horrible disease. I am praying for the whole family and asking God to spare the children from developing this disease. I am really, very sorry for you. Praying that special grace from God is present with you now as you deal with this.

We lost my sil in 2009 at age 46 after a battle with cancer, so I sort of understand. But, she was divorced, and her two children were 21 and 23, so I can't imagine how hard it must be for your sil's young children and husband. My heart goes out to you and them

This must be SO HARD! I will pray for you and your family. This hits close to home, since my mother-in-law is currently in the later stages Huntington's and lives with us. Hungtington's is such a hard disease ...

Thank you all for your prayers. My sil went to be with the Lord this morning. Pray for those from here in PA that will be traveling to Indiana on Thursday. The funeral will be Friday. A former nurse from my church saw first-hand what Huntington's does to people in the later stage. It's a horrible thing. So, my dear sil did not have to go through that, yet this will be a very, very emotional time, when we see the nieces and nephew who had a very tough life in the last 10+ years that this had transpired. We are thankful she is no longer suffering, but we covet your prayers on behalf of her family. God bless you all for your faithfulness.
