As thankful as I am for the new place we are able to move to, the whole move has been stressful

In addition, it comes at a time when we had just started to get into a "groove" with our daily schedule, and now that has gone to the wayside because I needed the kids to help with clean-out and packing, plus I was catching up on my online college because I had fallen behind due to a nearly week-long bout with a bad cold and wheezing

If you know online college, the courses are compressed into 5 weeks, so missing a week is like missing several weeks! I am finally caught up there, and still working on packing. Our big move day is next week. The girls have continued reading and some educational games on their own, but not much else.
Please pray for us that getting back to the routine of school after this unexpected and lengthy hiatus will go smoothly. I don't want to feel like I have to start all over again getting the "groove" back

On the plus side, I think the girls really are itching to continue with their HOD, and I would love for us to get back on track as soon as possible. I already feel I will have to eliminate some typical school-year holidays since they have had this long break, and that feels kind of bad with the holidays coming, and hubby having secured a week off to coincide with my previously planned week-long Christmas holiday from HOD (my winter break from college as well). *sigh*

I'll be praying for your Lourdes. It is tough to get started back after a break no matter what the reason. I know it puts you behind in where you expected to be, but try not to let that bother you. It will all be done in good time. I say go ahead and enjoy your Christmas holiday that you all have together anyway. So you'll finish the school year a week later. It's really not a big deal. Enjoy your time off together when you aren't stressed over everything else. I think you all probably need it

, and you definitely deserve it!

Will be praying for you Lourdes! I agree with pp about taking that week off at Christmas with your family (although you will know what is best

). Trusting God to keep your heart in perfect peace as you move and fall back into your "groove."

I feel your pain too! We are taking off the week of Thanksgiving, and Christmas Eve and the week after Christmas, and that is IT. I hope I don't end up having to change my plans too much because of December busyness - it seems like every year December is such a stressful month and things get left out and fall by the wayside because of how busy we are with family commitments, and other things.
I am saying a prayer for you, for wisdom, for things to get back on track, for a smooth move and transition, and for you to have peace even though things haven't gone the way you planned. Your children are doing great, and thriving, and hopefully the new house will be a major blessing!

Praying for you, too, Lourdes. I was just looking at our "plan" for the year last night and seeing when we would finish if I took "x" number of weeks off when this baby arrives next week. It seriously helps us in that my husband NEVER gets a day off around here. There are chores on the dairy every day, and so he works every day. Makes it much easier for me & the kids to work, too. I'm thinking that if you & the kids aren't too antsy in the spring that I would just take your week at Christmas, too. BUT, if you're like me and you really like to be done early in the spring, I'd be tempted to work through and enjoy free afternoons that week (when the school work is done). I know that once it's mowing/gardening/park season around here that I have a hard time getting all the outside work and inside work done AND enjoying some much needed time to run and play outside with the kids. So, we will start early and plug on through in order to be done around May 1. You probably know what works best for your family, and I'd just consider that and the work you need to complete and make a plan and try to stick with it. (Knowing that there WILL be unexpected "life" that comes as a surprise to us...but not to the Lord. He'll help you!)
