Can someone explain the schedule for R & S English?

I was just wondering when R & S English began to be taught at half-speed and when and what writing programs corresponded at the same time? I'd love to see the schedule for all the guides in one place. I'm just having a hard time wrapping my mind around it all. I have two dc in Bigger with one doing English 2 and one doing English 3. I hope my question makes sense. Thanks.

Hi there,
R&S English is taught half-speed starting in CTC with R&S English 4 or 5. It's taught half-speed again in the folling guide, RTR. Then back to full speed in Rev to Rev. For writing, CTC uses Write With the Best and RTR uses the Medieval History Writing Lessons from IEW. I'm pretty sure Carrie's goal is for kids to finish R&S English 6 by the end of 8th grade.
I hope that makes sense!

In Preparing they do Grammar Daily so one of yours would do R&S 3 and the other R&S 4. Then in CTC they do grammar 2x's a week with your one child getting halfway thru 4 and the other one getting halfway thru 5 and then in RTR they would finish 4 and 5 up. Then in Rev to Rev they do grammar daily which gets the one doing R&S 5 all the way through 5 and the one doing R&S 6 half way through 6(lessons in 6 are split up to spread the book over 2 years). Then I am assuming in the modern guide you one would finish up 6, but not sure about the one that would just be starting 6.
The writing programs that go with each are as HappyMama listed for CTC and RTR . In Preparing you have writing instruction in the guide that goes along with the Poetry study. In Rev to Rev you do the The Exciting World of Creative Writing. Hope that helps.

The ladies did a great job of answering your questions! I'll just add that our plans for high school include completing English 7 and 8, doing half each year of high school as part of the English credit.

Our goal is to have students finish English 6 by the end of grade 8 and English 8 by the end of high school. We also add studied dictation, poetry study, a composition program, writing across the curriculum, and a full-blown literature program every year to the line-up from CTC on up as well. So, the language arts path we take is very solid.
Blessings,
Carrie

Thanks for helping me sort it out in my brain. I was trying to figure out how ds wouldn't be behind, but dd wouldn't be ahead too much and didn't want them to have to be doing too much English when writing programs were running. I love the balance of HOD and wanted to make sure that would all be intact.
