A little while ago, (adopted)dd8 was on my lap. She asked, "Do you know who I like best for a mom?" I asked, "Who?" She then nudged me.

She said, "You don't wear fancy jewels. I'm your jewel."

I squeezed her and said, "Yes, you are. You're stuck with me."

We just finished week 7 in Beyond and the poem for the week was "Mother's Jewels". Other than my wedding band, I don't wear much jewelry. She is fascinated with the fancies. I had told her that wearing fancy jewels was not important to this mother. Her children were her jewels. Angie had stated previously that she didn't care for the poetry, so it not only thrilled me to hear her say what she did, but to also know that she is listening.

This makes it all worthwhile!

I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. III John 4
