Question about Book Projects to Send home book

Post by tnahid » Mon Oct 17, 2011 9:59 pm

I just realized that there was another book that went with DITHOR, the Book Project book. OOOOPS!! I have not been using that so far. Is it absolutely essential? What kinds of things are included in this? I have 2 sons using DITHOR this year. If I need to order it I will, but if it is not absolutely essential, I am not going to add it to our daily curriculum. I really have enough already! :D :D

It is not necessary. At the end of each genre when you choose a project to work on for that week, one of the three projects that you can choose comes from the book projects to take home. You still have 2 choices for your end project even if you don't have the book projects book. We've done several of the projects from the book projects to take home book and have enjoyed them. So if you are able, it's a nice option to have, but not necessary. :D

It is not essential since you can use one of the other two options for your end project. But I have to say that I really like it and I'm glad I bought it! The projects are fun and super easy to do. If you can afford spending the extra money, I highly recommend it. :)

We have truly enjoyed the variety Book Projects to Send Home has given us! I did not get them at first, because my first ds was not very into artistic projects. However, my second ds is, and I then got them for him. Doing them with my oldest ds has actually made him really enjoy artistic projects more. I think he just needed some guidance to get going with them. I did a post showing pics of some of their Book Projects to Send Home. Here is a link to that so you can see the variety I'm talking about...

Just this past week we finished out the Biography genre. This time my oldest picked to do a Level 6/7/8 Book Project, and my youngest chose a Level 2/3 Book Project idea.

It is kind of fun to see what they choose! Anyway, the Book Projects to Send Home books are not necessary. So if you need to economize, you don't have to have them. However, they are inexpensive, and they are a lot of fun, so if you can swing it, they are nice to have. You could always add them later for variety if you feel you'd rather not now. HTH! :D

Great question! :D The ladies have already answered you so well! We did make it one of three project options in DITHR, so you can get by without it. However, I will say that our own boys have really loved the projects through the years, and since the book is reprodicible for home use it is well worth its purchase price. :D When you need to order something else from HOD, it would be a great time to add it in. That way you won't have to pay shipping on just one book.

Blessings,
Carrie
