Is there a thread with credits listed for guides?

Hi Carrie,
I am looking at your different posts about HOD for high school and I wonder if there is or will be a place that lists credits for different guides in order to use them for a transcript.
Maybe my question is premature because only Rev2Rev with extensions is written for high school. Hope that I am making sense.
Thanks,
Sherry

Also check out the "beef up" threads in the sticky section. There are lots of wonderful ideas on even getting more credits by adding small things to the guides. That has helped me tremendously to figure out what credits we want to claim when and how to get the most out of the guides for high school.

Thanks Julie and water2wine,
I have been checking out the beefing up threads so I am getting familiar with those and the link to the thread you posted, Julie, was helpful. I will look that over closer as well.
I guess I still am a bit confused on the credits and I think the fault is mine for not being more clear in my question.
For example, Rev2Rev is written with extensions for grade 9, right? So at the end of that guide, if you used extensions and included any beefing up recommendations, would you say that your dc earned....
1 cr American History
1 cr Physical science
.25 cr geography (based on a thread I think I read here)
1 credit english
and so on?
Once the guides are totally high school (maybe beginning with the Modern Times), would Carrie put a page in the guide saying..."ok, if you did all the work as is and possibly added extensions your transcript would look like this." and list all the credits to be awarded? Sorry if this is a dumb question or I overlooked something in one of the posts suggested, but I think I am going to need some help on this.
Thanks for sticking with me and helping me to understand how the high school credits will work.

Sherry,
You are on the right track! I would agree with the credits that you have listed in your last post so far.

Since the guides have a unit study aspect to much of each program, you have some leeway in how to actually count credits.
Missions to Modern Marvels will be the next guide after Revival to Revolution. The geography guides will come after Missions to Modern Marvels. Once we get to the geography guide, we will likely start listing course descriptions and possible credits for high school. This is because the geography guide will technically be the first guide that will be high school worthy in all areas without extensions. The target range for Missions to Modern Marvels will be ages 12-14 with extensions for ages 15-16. The target age range for the geography guide will be ages 13-15 with extensions for ages 16-17.

The other guides can be high school worthy too in many areas, depending on what is added, so that is why there are not specific credits listed with specific course descriptions for the earlier guides.

Much depends on the state requirements, the student's possible academic plans after high school, and the family goals for the student as to what is needed for high school. This varies widely.

The thread linked above on how to make Rev2Rev credit worthy should be of help. If you have other questions, ask away!

Carrie

OHHHH, Missions to Modern Marvels......love the sound of that already! My ds will be anxious to get to that guide.....he is a lover of all things missionary!
Thanks to all the ladies and Carrie, for making the whole high school thing easier.

I want to have my kids use as much of the material in the guides as possible because I love the content and the focus. I would ask for prayer that in that goal I will not lose track of the journey. I don't want to push them too hard, but also don't want to be too lax. As I am starting our new guide, RTR, I am daily reminding myself that Julie says that the training period can last for up to 4 weeks! That is encouraging to me.
Thanks again,
Sherry

Sherry,
I will encourage you too that you will find your groove with RTR, but it does take some settling in. As you past the first month, you'll be surprised at how much more comfortable you begin to feel. By the 6th week, you will likely be hitting your stride pretty well, as long as your child is placed in the correct guide. Otherwise, by then, you'll know that too. We're here to help and encourage you as we travel the HOD path together.
Blessings,
Carrie

Thanks, Carrie!
I am encouraged by ds's progress and ability. I just posted the other day on another forum that the building of independence is one thing that I love about HOD!
I think the biggest issue we are facing is the written narrations for history. DS is one of those detail people so he wants to put it
all in his narration! We are working on making sure we have the most important parts and paring down redundant words. I am loving the skills in the writing (Medieval Based Writing Lessons) and we are referring to them as we work through the written narrations. Today I made sure he knew that "went" was a banned word!
Thanks again for the encouragement!

Sherry, just wanted to say "hi" from a fellow RTR user (and Saxon math, too!!)

This is our 2nd year with HOD and we are loving it!! I already purchased and have Rev2Rev here ready for next year!
