Hi!

We're getting ready to cruise up the road to spend a few days in the mountains and I was thinking it might be a cool idea to get a book or two on audio cd to take with us to help pass the time traveling.

What would you recommend? :D

Were enjoying storynory and story home here for free audio books you can down load in itunes to a ipod or computer.

Any of the Narnia series that Focus on the Family put out.

We usually have an audio book in the car. Last year we listened to Misty of Chincoteague, then Stormy, Misty's Foal (Marguerite Henry). The other favorites were all the Henry Huggins books by Beverly Cleary. I much prefer those to the Ramona books as the Ramona books have sibling problems.

Brooklyn loves audio books for traveling...we had a few of Johnathon Parks..and really saw some behavior issues when she listened to those..I think some times the way the kids talk is not nice..and she picked right up on it..we stopped those and her attitude was immediately better...she really liked All of a Kind Family when we read it and went and got a couple audio books for that....and she is loving it...and no attitude issues! I am writting down everyones suggestions so I can give her some more ideas to check out at the library! Beth in Idaho

My sons love the complete Winnie-the Pooh audio book. They are almost 3 and 5. My dd 10 even sits in and enjoys it sometimes.

For the older crowd my dd's age we liked classics like Alice In Wonderland, Charlotte's Web, and of course All of Kind Family. We can get them from our library but they only checkout for a week.

Thank you all so kindly for your suggestions! :D Unfortunately, I haven't had the opportunity to get anything because I've been so busy packing and cleaning. :( But, I'm definitely saving this post for future reference! :D :D

Boy, do we love those!

Adventures in Odyssey (there are hundreds)
The Little Princess
Little House on the Prairie
The Chronicles of Narnia (if you have children that don't scare very easily)
Focus on the Family has wonderful radio theaters! We have Anne of Green Gables, Little Women, and The Secret Garden by them. They really are amazing!

I hope this helps in the future! Have a safe trip!

Hi everyone! We're back! :D Came home Monday and have had a hard time getting back into reality. But at the same time, I'm soooo glad to be back into HOD! :D :D :D

I also wanted to say that it turned out to be a good thing we didn't take along any book on CD. Our CD player in the truck is kinda fickle and has a habit of "eating" discs - something I had forgotten about until I tried to load a bluegrass CD as we were leaving town. I spent the next 30 minutes trying to hook it with a bent paper clip in order to pull it out.  I was so very, very thankful that it wasn't a borrowed item from the library or something I had just spent money on! My! How blessings do disguised themselves!! :D :D :D

I'm glad you had a nice time and ended up not getting any audio books. :D It's beautiful in the mountains now, isn't it? We were there last weekend too and the leaves are really starting to show their colors. :D
