Thank you, Mommy!

Post by skwmackey » Sat Oct 01, 2011 12:56 am

I just had to share how thankful I am that we are using HOD this year.

Today, my oldest son (11) was working on his science (Unit 7 of RtR) creating the "volcano." We were finishing up Day 4 of Unit 7 today where he got to create the volcano erupting. He thought this was the greatest science experiment. We did this experiment together since this was a project his younger brothers wanted to watch. As we were cleaning up, he said with enthusiasm, "Thank you, Mommy!" and gave me a spontaneous hug. It just made my day to see him truly excited about learning! It's not everyday I get thanked for teaching them.

Stephanie - This is one of those times to cherish and store away in your memory! :D Your ds's words are rare for an 11 yo boy - "Thank you, Mom!" and a HUG! A double blessing. I am so glad he thanked you and showed you how much he really appreciates your teaching him with HOD. The volcano thing was a hit with my ds too. I am so thankful that HOD keeps hands-on activities in their guides all the way through. My sons NEED them so much, and I NEED HOD to plan them for me, or they honestly probably wouldn't happen around here. Thanks for sharing this, and may the Lord continue to bless your teaching your dc with HOD! :D :D :D

In Christ,
Julie
